Summary:
In order to strengthen India's downstream zinc manufacturing ecosystem and promote value-added applications, Hindustan Zinc Limited, a Vedanta Group company and the largest integrated zinc producer in the world, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Group Nirmal to establish a zinc wire manufacturing facility at its Zinc Industrial Park in Bhilwara, Rajasthan. The project, developed with RIICO, will boost industrial growth, attract investment, strengthen the durability of bridges, railways, pipelines, and ports. The factory will make zinc wire for the automotive, industrial engineering, renewable energy, and infrastructure sectors using Special High Grade (SHG) zinc from Hindustan Zinc. The program seeks to advance value-added applications and fortify India's downstream zinc production ecosystem. Bridges, railroads, pipelines, and ports are made more durable by the use of zinc wire in thermal spray coating, which shields steel structures against corrosion. The project, which was created in collaboration with RIICO, would enhance supply chains, increase industrial growth, draw in investment, and create jobs in Rajasthan's manufacturing sector.
