Summary:
India's construction equipment market grew significantly in 2025–2026 due to the country's expanding infrastructure and growing demand for Indian-made machinery worldwide. The Ministry of Heavy Industries reports that overall sales were 1,40,191 units, up 3% from the year before. Exports increased 31.5% year over year to 16,885 units, demonstrating India's increasing competitiveness in the production of construction equipment. Large investments in mining, highways, railroads, urban expansion, and energy projects, as well as a rise in construction industry mechanization, all contributed to growth. Localization, capacity expansion, and technology adoption were enhanced by government programs like the PM Gati Shakti program, the National Infrastructure Pipeline (NIP), and the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme. India's standing in the global supply chain was further reinforced by growing exports to Africa, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America.
