Under Atmanirbhar Bharat, India hopes to export Rs. 96.30 lakh crore (US$1 trillion) in 2026–2027 and Rs. 192.60 lakh crore (US$2 trillion) in five years, according to Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal. He pointed out that despite global difficulties, exports increased by almost 5% to Rs. 75.94 lakh crore in 2025–2026. With free trade agreements (FTAs) with 38 industrialised nations expanding market access, he emphasised exporting as a national purpose. In order to promote and substitute Swadeshi manufacture, he called for import surveillance. He emphasised increased domestic demand, more competition, and the involvement of young people and startups. The government is enhancing trade infrastructure, logistics, and business ease. Merchandise exports totalled Rs. 38.88 crore, while services exports totalled Rs. 37.08 crore.
