On July 6–8, 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will make his first bilateral visit to Indonesia after the two nations formed a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2018. Strengthening collaboration in commerce, investment, connectivity, and critical areas is the goal of the visit. In the ASEAN area, Indonesia is India's second-largest commercial partner. In 2024–2025, bilateral trade reached Rs. 2,39,275 crore (US$28.15 billion). India purchased US$22.78 billion from Indonesia and exported US$5.38 billion worth of products. Indian investments in Indonesia amounted US$1.56 billion over 7,292 projects between 2000 and 2024. Growing economic and interpersonal links are further reinforced by increasing air connectivity and tourism.
