Summary:

According to CLSA, the over-the-top (OTT) streaming industry in India has expanded to 1.45 billion monthly active users (MAUs), a 20% increase over the previous three years and a 2% increase over the previous twelve months. India's status as a mobile-first media industry is strengthened by this expansion, which is fueled by inexpensive mobile data, growing smartphone adoption, and increased digital content consumption. By FY28, there will be 885 million smartphone users, which will increase demand for regional, sports, and video content. With 772 million MAUs, YouTube is in the lead, followed by JioHotstar (390 million), Netflix (92 million), and Amazon Prime Video (67 million). The use of many platforms is growing, resulting in audiences that overlap. In India, the industry is boosting subscriptions, advertising growth, and more robust digital ecosystems.
