Summary:
With assets under management expected to increase from Rs. 84.81 lakh crore in 2024 to Rs. 160.19 lakh crore by 2030, the asset and wealth management sector in India is expected to nearly treble. Between 2024 and 2030, it is predicted to increase at a CAGR of 11.6%, surpassing AsiaPacific's 6.8% growth. Institutional capital, retail involvement, regulatory changes, digital infrastructure, and GIFT City's rise to prominence as a global financial center are the main drivers of growth. These elements direct household savings into long-term investments and strengthen capital markets. India's financialisation is bolstered by the country's 80% bank account penetration rate and growing UPI digital payments. With increasing demat accounts, SIP inflows, and institutional funds from EPFO and insurance, UPI processes Rs. 235.58 lakh crore yearly.
