Summary:
With the introduction of a UPI-based remittance service by Eurobank for money transfers from Greece to India, India's digital payments ecosystem has grown internationally. The service, which was created in collaboration with NPCI International Payments Limited, makes cross-border UPI transactions quick, safe, and affordable. The program boosts UPI's expanding global reach, lowers remittance costs, and speeds up transactions. During his visit to Greece, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal launched the service, calling it a significant step toward India's digital payment system's international expansion. In order to promote investment, manufacturing, infrastructure development, innovation, and sustainable economic growth, he also met with Fokion Karavias, CEO of Eurobank, to explore strengthening India-Greece economic collaboration.
